How is the Trust funded?
Postcode Planet Trust operates its own society lottery and is entirely funded by the players of People’s Postcode Lottery. As more players join People's Postcode Lottery, more funds are distributed to Postcode Planet Trust and made available for the Trust to award to good causes. How is the Trust regulated?
Postcode Planet Trust is a charity registered in Scotland (SC044847) and is a company limited by guarantee (SC476386). Postcode Planet Trust is regulated by the Gambling Commission under certificate 000-037736-N-318505 and 000-037736-R-318504.
How do I apply for funding from the Trust?
Postcode Planet Trust does not accept unsolicited applications. The Trust currently funds a selection of charities meeting the objectives of the Trust. It is proactive in approaching charities and, as funds grow, will thoroughly research and select potential beneficiaries who will be invited to apply.
When an opportunity arises for the Trust to consider adding a new beneficiary, the Trust team identify any gaps in the current funding portfolio in line with the trust strategy and current sector needs. Potential beneficiaries are then identified and researched, carrying out due diligence on their impact, financial stability, thematic and geographical focus. Shortlisted beneficiaries are assessed by the Trust Team in person and presented to the Board. Approved charities are then asked to formally apply and present their application in person to the Board, which is either approved, rejected or further information requested.
I have been awarded a grant - what next?
If you have been lucky enough to receive funding from Postcode Planet Trust, you will be expected to provide twice-yearly progress reports and work with our Communications team to publicise our relationship. For more information, contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
